Message from His Excellency Governor D. Suntai-Chairman of the Hospital

Welcome to the Taraba State Specialist Hospital, Jalingo. As a health care professional, I am proud to be in this leadership role, first as a Governor and second as Chairman of the specialist hospital, Jalingo. 

I consider both assignments as the pinnacles of social responsibility and limitless opportunities to serve and protect all Tarabans especially the most vulnerable among us--the sick, the elderly, the poor and our wonen and children. My passion for medicine attracted me to pharmacy school and practice.

My passion for serving humanity culminated in my career in politics and now as the Governor of the State. It is my fervent hope, aspiration and prayer that we will all work together  in transforming our hospital into the pre-emninent specialist hospital in Northern Nigeria.

I am dedicated to the personal supervsion of the services rendered, capital expenditure for sustainable tertiary health system development and attracting and retaining the best human resource potential for our state hospital.

I appreciate the rapid tranformation the specialist hospital, Jalingo  undergone with world class facilities like a busy cancer center and endoscopy, laparoscopy and dialysis and echocrdiograhy services accomplished routinely under the leadership of a distinguished, dynamic and dedicated CMD. This is the role of democracy in serving the people and ensuring their health care needs are met with the best quality of care, compassion and in an affordable manner and above all, closer home. I am proud that a highly trained trained supers-specialist in Nigeria and the USA is leading the effort of the specilaist hospital transformation.

I have given the CMD/CEO the mandate of ensuring that patients are always first consistent with my administration policy of putting poeple first. Please join us in the remarkable journey of transforming our health systems to the a contemporay standard.

Our range of services:

We offer a full diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic service. These include diagnostic and interventional gastrointestinal procedures, echocardiography, dialysis center, vibrant blood and cancer center, very busy obstetrics and gynecology unit and a 24 hours/365 dedicated accident and emergency unit with highly trained staff and equipped units and well stocked with critical care medications.
